AMCA's 2009 "Lake Chestermere" Show 'n' Shine

On Saturday, July 26^th, the AMCA held their 8^th Annual Show 'n' Shine at the Lake Chestermere Community Centre. As has become expected, both the turnout, and the weather, were excellent!

Most of the credit for the show's success goes to Mike St. Cyr and Elaine Smart. Without the work and dedication of these two people, the show just wouldn't happen. Also deserving a big "Thanks" are all the AMCA volunteers that worked so hard to make everything run as smoothly as possible.

As there is at every show, we had "winners" — and this year's show was no exception. Eleven entrants were picked by the spectators ( people's choice ) and awarded trophies for their efforts and entries.

The People's Choices

This year we decided to try a different approach to judging our show — let the people decide! Every participant and every guest was given a ballot to indicate which car(s) in the show they liked the most. The result was eleven "People's Choice Awards", as well as two awards that were strictly for AMCA members.

The reults were as follows:–

	Also in the Winner's Circle was Gary Thoreson, who won the coveted AMCA "Best AMC of Show" award! Trophy presnted by: Russ Tessier (right) Congratulations to both Gary and Geoff!

As a result of the fabulous turn-out, the AMCA made a donation to the Alberta Guide Dog Society as a way of saying "Thanks!" to those who either participated, or showed an interest in this hobby, and also as a means of giving back to our communities.
